Geography
The Medvedsky forest is located in the Nolinsky district on the left bank of the Vyatka near the village of Medvedok. The area is 7469 hectares. Its geographical position is 50° c.w. and 57° v.d. There are many craters, sinkholes, lakes in this karst relief area. Here it is the continental climate with mild cold winter and warm summer. The average temperature in January is -12, and in July is +18.
The scenic lake Chvanikha is located in the Medvedsky forest. This lake is formed by twenty karst sinkholes, that’s why its second name – Sinkholes. Its length is more than one kilometer, width from 50 to 120 m, depth up to 14 m.
To get to the Medvedsky Forest you can go by Kazan road to Nolinsk then through the villageof Medvedok after that the asphalt road turns into the side road.
